I built this because translating scanned PDFs never worked well. Drop a scanned certificate, transcript, manual or paper into a typical translator and it either says it can't handle scans, or it pastes a plain white box of text over the page. Not pretty. I wanted something that translates accurately and keeps the original layout and background, so the translated scan still looks good.
Reglyph reads the text on each page, erases the original from the image, translates it and sets it back where it was. Tables, stamps, signature lines and page numbers stay in place, and you can also download a bilingual side-by-side PDF. For quality, it supports 19 languages for now, with more to come.
If you often deal with foreign-language scans, or need your own documents in another language, and you're not happy with what other PDF translators give you, give it a try. 5 free pages when you sign up, no watermark, no credit card.
There's still plenty to improve. If you hit a problem, leave a comment; if you have a lot of documents to translate, get in touch!
